1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions apply to the website at hakodesi.live and to the interior design services provided by Hako Design (referred to herein as "we," "us," or "our studio"). By using this website or engaging our services, you agree to the terms set out below. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the website.

2. Services

Hako Design offers three principal services:

• Space Dialogue — a site consultation and written brief, completed within one week at MYR 480
• Design Craft & Documentation — a full design and documentation package over 6–10 weeks at MYR 3,600
• Realization Guidance — on-site project coordination over 8–16 weeks at MYR 1,850

The scope, timeline, fees, and deliverables for each service will be confirmed in writing prior to commencement. Prices listed on this website are indicative and subject to change for specific project conditions.

3. Enquiries and Engagement

Submitting an enquiry through our contact form does not constitute a service agreement. A service engagement begins only when both parties have agreed on scope and fees in writing, and a deposit (where applicable) has been received. We reserve the right to decline any enquiry at our discretion.

4. Payment

Payment terms will be specified in the individual service agreement. Unless otherwise agreed, a deposit is required before work commences. Remaining balances are due at the milestones or dates set out in the agreement. We reserve the right to suspend work in the event of non-payment.

5. Revisions and Changes

Design Craft & Documentation engagements include two revision cycles within the agreed scope. Requests for revisions beyond this, or changes to scope, may be subject to additional fees. We will communicate any such costs clearly before proceeding. Minor clarifications and corrections are addressed without additional charge at our discretion.

6. Intellectual Property

All design concepts, drawings, specifications, and documentation produced by Hako Design remain our intellectual property until full payment has been received. Upon receipt of full payment, the client receives a licence to use the deliverables for the purposes of the project. We retain the right to reference completed projects in our portfolio, with discretion regarding the disclosure of client details.

7. Client Responsibilities

For a smooth project process, clients are asked to:

• Provide accurate information about the space, including measurements and existing conditions
• Respond to requests for feedback or approvals within a reasonable time frame
• Ensure access to the site as required for site visits or contractor coordination
• Communicate any changes to requirements or circumstances that may affect the project

8. Cancellation

If a client wishes to discontinue a service engagement, they should notify us in writing. Work completed to that point will be invoiced at the agreed rate. Deposits are generally non-refundable once work has commenced, except where a specific agreement states otherwise. We may also withdraw from a project if circumstances arise that make continuation unreasonable, in which case we will invoice for work completed.

9. Limitation of Liability

Our liability in connection with any service engagement is limited to the fees paid by the client for that engagement. We are not liable for indirect losses, consequential damages, or matters arising from contractor actions, material availability, or delays outside our reasonable control. Our design recommendations are made in good faith based on information available at the time.

10. Website Use

The content on this website is provided for informational purposes. While we take care to ensure accuracy, we make no warranties about the completeness or currency of the information. You may not reproduce, distribute, or adapt content from this website without prior written consent from Hako Design.

11. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any disputes arising in connection with these terms or our services shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia. We prefer to resolve any concerns informally in the first instance — please reach out to us before pursuing formal proceedings.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Any updates will be posted on this page with a revised date. Continued use of the website following such changes indicates acceptance of the updated terms.
